  1. Understand the political climate in the world/nation/state and cities of reference

  2. Earn a professional degree in architecture from an accredited university

  3. Maintain a high credit score for loan/credit/housing options for lifestyle flexibility

  4. Determine the type, price and schedules of professional registration examinations

  5. For conversation, purpose-statement, and self-actualization purposes, articulate the “why” behind career decisions and a roadmap to move forward

  6. Keep records of all academic transcripts from educational institutions

  7. Enter environments that include like-minded individuals (such as graduate schools, professional organizations, and volunteer opportunities) to build healthy relationships (but do not forget personal relationship building!)

  8. Find the statistics about professionals with similar demographic information and where they are most successful (and how)

  9. Try to qualify for a job that provides enough income to support advancement, or at least fund a change that will lead to advancement
